POSSIBLE V8 UNIT CONCEPTS

as anyone who follows me on twitter likely knows, i’ve been losing my goddamn mind over a possible verhao unit on and off since minghao dished this out. but this has been a long time coming. i’ve wanted a verhao song/stage for years now because it would be so cool to see their growth since their stage together back in 2016. and god minghao’s been saying he wants to make a new unit with vernon since at least 2019.

but i had repressed myself from hoping anything would actually happen because verhao has never been a Company Mandated Ship. and mind you, i’m still repressing myself. i refuse to be disappointed if nothing ever happens!!! my capmerc works so hard, god bless them.

anyways, lav asked me what kinda concept i want for them and i was like. hm. what do i want. as rarepairist who is desperate for the tiniest of crumbs i would honestly take Anything, i’ve been suffering for so long 😔🙏 but here’s a list of songs that i think would work well with verhao. or just panders to me specifically <3

• zico—artist    

“life is short, art is long” 

it’s a bright, feel-good song about Just Creating Art and encouraging people to Go For It. we all artist, baby. not only is the vibe very verhao, but the message and theming also lines up with their ideals. i personally think this is the type of track verhao are most likely to go for, knowing that (i think???)minghao said he wanted to make something fun with vernon. also, they were so into it during mama 2017.

• tinashe—pasadena

“feelin' free, feelin' free, feelin' right  

it's a vibe, feelin' right (hey, hey, hey)”

ugh tinashe<3 this is my summer song of the year. it really is all about the vibes on this one. it’s uplifting and fun but still chill. bouncy but relaxed. also having verhao do choreo that goes as hard as tinashe’s for a song like this? dope as fuck. would also lend itself well for the power of love project if they put in some cute lyrics abt chilling with the person they like<3

• seventeen—gam3 bo1

“GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 GAM3 BO1”

i don’t really think the subject matter would necessarily work with verhao and it wouldn’t make sense for them to make it abt games anyway since gam3 bo1…exists, but since vernon was one of the main producers of the track, i put this song in. because the sound. HYPERPOP VERHAOS !! would be so much fun !!! what the fuck !! seeing how vernon seems to stick to what he likes, it wouldn’t surprise me if they come out with a glitchy mess of a song(affectionate). imagining suuper colourful mv/styling here with pops of neon.

• chancellor—comes and goes cover

momo you’re just putting this in because you have attachments to it because you put it in a verhao playlist years ago. uhm, yes, but also listen. vernon’s current monotone aesthetic…him talking about his past pop punk favs during that solo vlive…i just think it would be sexy. vernon low range vocals+minghao’s breathy voice…and possible rap verses on a rock inspired song w trap beats? sexy. however, i also think this(as well as the rest of the songs following this one) are a less likely direction verhao would go with. in this case, i just don’t think pledis/hybe would want a unit to do a depressing track after minwon released bittersweet. the sad boi vibe would be so good tho, ugh.

• doja cat—need to know

okay, okay, i know this is getting unhinged. and i’m not expecting vernon or minghao to sing about having sex this blatantly. but like. first of all, VERHAO ARE THE ALIENFUCKERS OF SEVENTEEN. points to (vernon produced) Rocket. and their old tie-dye alien t-shirt. and minghao drawing a spaceship in the margins of a book once. vernon writing To Infinity and beyond and drawing the planet saturn on minghaos jumpsuit(i know, i know it’s based on Toy Story ok, let me dream). minghao posting pics of the sky because it looks like there’s an alien face up there. i just think verhao as hot thotty aliens rapping about how they got no type would be on-brand and very aqua stellium of them <3

• doja cat—kiss me more

momo really. another doja cat song. yes, another doja cat song. i’ve been slut 4 her work since amala became my fav album in 2018 ok !!! anywayz, verhao as sxc aliens but this time they’re giants. dress them in something flowy, think minghao’s cyzj twinkle twinkle little star fit. sorry this is the most self indulgent one, but this is my list so it’s fine !!
